Why Bonang Matheba is owning 2017
There's just no stopping Bonang!
Bonang Matheba is undoubtedly one of the most hard-working people in the South African entertainment industry. She's a TV and radio personality who boasts millions of fans from not only South Africa, but the rest of the African continent. With over a decade in the business, Bonang, born in Mafikeng, continues to shine and there is no stopping her.
This year is also proving to be a great year for the starlet. Here are just a few reasons why she is owning 2017.
She's an authour:
Ms Matheba has released her book Bonang: From A to B. The book takes a look at how the media personality build her strong brand. "This is the story of how a girl from Mafikeng in the North West found her face next to that of Halle Berry's in a worldwide Revlon campaign. The most important lesson from the book, as the subtitle suggests, will be that no one is born made - we all have to work very hard. Much like Bonang did," according to Exlusive Books.
Magazine covers are nothing new for this star. Bonang has graced the covers of South Africa's biggest mags including True Love, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and recently, Destiny in June.
In the Destiny issue, she spoke about her brand, business ventures and how she uses social media to her advantage. She told the publication: "Everything I do online is calculated. I share a certain part of myself with the public and I keep a big part myself for me, for survival." There's definitely a lesson to learn here.
The mother of all birthday parties
For her 30th birthday, Bonang had a star-studded celebration this past weekend. Guests inlcuded Khanyi Dhlomo, Basetsana Kumalo, Nomzamo Mbatha, Fikile Mbalula and AKA. Queen B wore a gorgeous pink dress designed by Gert-Johan Coetzee.

Bonang is certainly teaching some of us a few things about business. The media darling has not only made her mark as an entertainer, but is also a force in business. She will be launching her own emojis called Bmojis this month and that alone shows you that shes not here to play games!
There are also plans to release an App in partnership with Cell C. She revealed to Destiny that the App will come with exclusive pictures, videos, blogs and snippets from her new reality show.
You can't talk about notable TV personalities in Mzansi without mentioning Bonang's name. She has done it all from talk shows, red carpet exlusives and hosting some of Africa's biggest award shows. Now she will be dominating our TV screens witth two new TV shows - one on Mzansi Magic and her much-anticipated reality show on VUZU AMP titled Being Bonang.
