Cardi B Making Money Moves – Love and Hip Hop New York

We have the answers to why Cardi B has been absent from Love and Hip Hop New York.

27 August 2018

After hinting that she did not have many seasons left in her, Cardi B released an Instagram Live post explaining her decision to leave Love and Hip Hop New York. There had been rumours that there was animosity between her and the show creator Mona Scott Young but Cardi assured fans that in fact she really loved Mona.

At the time Cardi’s star as a hip hop star was rising and she wanted more time to focus on her music career, aren’t we glad she did! Cardi stated that she didn’t want people to think she became a rapper because she was on Love and Hip Hop. The true fans will know that before Bodak Yellow became an anthem, Cardi had a breakout mixtape, Gangsta B***h Music Vol I which took her a year to create. She had started working on the mixtape before her role in Love and Hip Hop but she only wanted to release it when it was perfect. Cardi emphasises the importance of putting time and your best effort into your work if you want your work to be a success, hint taken sis!

While we miss her comedy on the show, she still makes us laugh on Instagram and we will continue to enjoy each banger she releases.

Cardi B is now a worldwide superstar, Bodak Yellow was the longest reigning chart topper on the Billboard Hot 100 for an unaccompanied female rapper. It was also the first number one for a female rapper since Lauryn Hill’s Doo Wop in 1998. She got five awards at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards and she had two Grammy nominations. After Bodak Yellow she proved she wasn’t a one hit wonder as Bartier Cardi, No Limit and Motorsport all featured on the Billboard Hot 100. She also beat Taylor Swift’s Reputation Invasion of Privacy on Apple Music to become the most streamed album by a female artist in a single week.

We recently found out that Cardi will be making the move to the big screen in an upcoming project,YASSS!

Her personal life has also been amazing! Offset from The Migos proposed to her during the Power 99 Radio’s Powerhouse concert and they recently welcomed their first child, Kulture.

Cardi seems to be making all the moves she wants to make and although we no longer see her on Love and Hip Hop New York we stan a winning queen!
