The Challenges Are Not What They Seem
The contestants are given a set time and there is no compromise on that, but have you ever wondered how the camera crew gets all those amazing shots all of the time when there is no time? Yes? When the time runs out the contestants have put their utensils down, stop touching their dish and move away from their benches as the director calls cut. However the director calls action again and the contestants have to pretend to fuss around their plates for the next three minutes. Yep, they pretend to cook, take a closer look next time.
Don’t Say That
The producers of Masterchef Australia have banned words from the show over the years and although we have not been able to get a hold of the list we have it on good authority that ‘yummy’ is on the list. The judges however do try and sneak in some words on the naughty list into the show and sometimes they get away with it.
What You Don't Know About Matt
Matt is a musician! He released a compilation CD is 2009 called Music from Another Platter – Music for Cooking , Music for Eating. One known fact about Matt is his love for cravats, but did you know he has 400 of them. He used to name his cravats but a lady at his office took offence and so he stopped.
What You Don't Know About George
George started his career working for Gary at the Hotel Sofitel in Melbourne, it was a great start as he is one of the few people to hold the honour of representing Australia at the ‘Olympics of Food”. He is also a doting father and loves children to bits. When he is travelling away from home he Facetimes with them everyday. George narrated how his son asks him, “Is it dark or light?” every time and George opens the curtains and shows him, aww.
What You Don't Know About Gary
Gary is a bike rider! When he was in India he was EXTRA and took a Royal Enfield as he rode with George as his passenger. Gary has tried so hard to lose weight and get fit that he even got a personal trainer, the trainer told him that in six months he’d rip the far off him. Six months later? Gary had not lost any of the weight, Gary said, “I think this is the first time in the history of gym this has happened”.
