Catch Bachelor Pad On Vuzu

Added February 17, 2012 Under: Featured, TV Highlights, VIdeo

Catch former game show host and news anchor Chris Harrison as he reprises his role from The Bachelor, alongside Melissa Rycroft as she serves as special guest co-host for the first season.

The show stars eleven women and eight men eliminated from various seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette who compete for a $250,000 prize.

Bachelor Pad represents “a second chance at finding love” for those rejected by previous Bachelors and Bachelorettes. The contestants live together in a mansion and take part in challenges to prevent elimination, go on dates with contestants of their choice, and choose other contestants to eliminate.

On tonight’s episode, at a ridiculously gorgeous mansion, Chris Harrison tells our old friend Tenley that she is the first-ever guest to step into the Bachelor Pad. Quite an honor! Others then filter in one-by-one. Many of these love seekers were on their respective Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons together but others like Nikki, Natalie, Peyton and Gwen come into the house without any ties. For now!

Check out the clip below for snippets of what you can expect in the exciting season première, only on Vuzu tonight at 20:30!

Lungile, Siya & Thomas Get Busy Living on, Forever Young

Added February 15, 2012 Under: Featured, Latest News, TV Highlights

Vuzu’s brand new homegrown show takes reality television into a totally new realm – one where big dreams, leaps of faith, inspiration, aspiration, and the pursuit of personal success are the point of everything!

Titled Forever Young – with the tagline “Get Busy Living” – the show follows a trio of young South Africans determined to follow their heart and live in the moment in pursuit of their (big) dreams!

That trio is headed up by Lungile Radu, who first entered the hearts and lives of Africans as part of the Channel O team, earning him the enduring nickname “Lungsta”.

Since those days, Lungile has appeared on It’s For Life, and took over from Taps Mokoena as the host of Fear Factor South Africa for the second season, which aired in 2007. In 2007, Lungile made his screen acting debut in the leading role of “rich boy” Sibusiso Vilakazi on the soapie Rhythm City. More recently Lungile has hosted the hugely successful Channel O show, Goal Diggerz – a great fit for this avid runner who has notched up two Comrades Marathons (when he’s not hanging with his boys).

Lungile is joined by Siyabonga Ngwekazi, another highly experienced South African entertainer. Over the years, Siya has hosted everything from Street Journal to The Real Goboza, V Entertainment and Top Shayela. Completing the trio is Thomas Gumede, who successfully combines acting and comedy. Gumede has had several acclaimed dramatic roles including that of Siphiwe in A Place Called Home, Bay Of Plenty, Backstage, Home Affairs and Soul City.

With Lungile keeping the momentum going (he’s levelheaded, serious, a good voice of reason, steadfast, and goal-orientated and manages to keep most of his outbursts in check!), Forever Young has been a life-changing experience for the three young South Africans involved who are not only staring in the show but are also producers.

For Lungile, Forever Young is more than just a show – it’s a way of life. “When I came up with the concept, it was all about changing the game – realising my dreams as a producer and director, and at the same time raising the bar in the entertainment industry by putting out a show that can compete internationally both in terms of its quality as well as its entertainment factor.”

“In keeping with our payoff line – “get busy living” – the show aims to encourage people to pursue their ambitions so that they can eventually realise their dreams,” adds Lungile.

For Siya, the chance to do something more meaningful through entertainment was something he could not refuse. “I hope the show exposes, inspires and even upsets people. I want to shake the minds of the young and old folk of South Africa,” says Siya.

Gumede says Forever Young has taught him to “roll with the punches”. “Forever Young has proved to me that all you need is a dream and a team and you can make anything happen. Get busy living.”

Episode one of the show introduces viewers to this trio of guys and the people around them, as they make plans to go to Brazil where the drama and fun is only just beginning. Expect to see full-on conflict (sometimes between the guys themselves), and also great heights as Lungile, Siya and Thomas make a play for success in the fashion and entertainment world.

Forever Young is not just a TV show. It’s about the journey to success. It’s about leaping off a cliff, knowing you will survive. It’s about overcoming obstacles as young people in the 21st century and getting on with those closest to you. It’s about being creative and finding your way. And it’s coming to you.

Get Busy Living with Forever Young on Friday, 9 March at 19:00 – ONLY on Vuzu!

Added February 14, 2012 Under: Featured, Latest News, TV Highlights

Multiple Channel O Music Video Award winner, Masters of Rhythm judge as well as all round hip hop giant, AKA continues to push boundaries and now adds The Verge co-host to his repertoire.
South Africa’s most talked about Hip Hop artist makes his gaming debut as The Verge co-host this Wednesday, 15 February at 22:30.

Born Kiernan Forbes, AKA cut his musical teeth in 2002 as part of the hip hop group Entity who went on to establish themselves with the smash hit “Touch N Go”. Although behind the scenes, his passion for production kept him active in music.

Under “I.V League Papa!”, as he commonly chants over his tracks, AKA has laid his magical hands on beats for some of South Africa’s biggest names in the industry, namely Pro (“Dankie San”), Tuks (“The Monopoly”), Khuli Chana (“MostwakOriginator”), Teargas (“Wafa Wafa”), Psyfo (“The Afterparty”), JR (“ “Y.B.R.F”), Proverb (“Super Official”) to mention a few.

His experiences as a young musician chasing the dream are skillfully retold on his debut album titled Altar Ego which dropped in 2011. Whenever fans see this emcee crowds go ballistic chanting the most notable line, “AKA he’s a beast. He’s a problem though” which is taken from #1 hit single “All I Know”.

In this week’s episode AKA gets to test out Sony’s latest handheld offering, the PS Vita. We put the fun and games aside (temporarily) and review Rise of Nightmares on the Kinect as well as check out this week’s featured gamer profile.
